Acoustic analysis of Ariane 5 solid propellant boosters.
Scope of the analysis was the calculation of natural frequencies and longitudinal and tangential modal shapes (pressures) and velocities of the compressible fluid in the cavity with rigid walls of the solid propellant boosters of the european launcher Ariane 5. The acoustic cavity analyses were performed using the capabilities included in the elements CSLOT and CAXIF of NASTRAN finite element program. The results obtained with NASTRAN were used by another program for the verification of combustion stability.
